Crowns – Bridges

Crowns: When a tooth suffers extensive tissue loss there is a chance that it can’t be restored with a filling or inlay. In order to ensure the tooth’s resistance to forces and the perfect aesthetic result, a crown is chosen. The crown can be made of zirconia, porcelain or metal and porcelain. Depending on the your needs, the dentist will recommend the most suitable options for you.
To create the crown, the tooth is prepared and a temporary crown is placed during the same appointment. At a subsequent appointment an impression of the tooth is taken so that the crown can be built in the laboratory. All impressions in our clinic are taken using a digital scanner which results to less appointments required before the final placement. At the last appointment the crown is bonded to the tooth. The materials and techniques of crown manufacturing ensure excellent aesthetics and functionality since they are similar in shape and size to the original tooth.
Bridges: In areas where there are gaps due to tooth loss and implants were not or cannot be placed, a dental bridge is an alternative treatment. A prerequisite is that the adjacent teeth in the fresh area are healthy and can provide adequate support. The bridge can be made of zirconia, porcelain or metal and porcelain. Depending on the your needs, your dentist will recommend the most suitable options for you.
