Frenectomy

The frenum is a small tissue membrane that connects the lips to the gums. It exists in both the upper and lower jaw. In the case of a large or hypertrophic frenum, it can be removed to facilitate speech and aesthetic appearance. It is a painless procedure performed with local anesthetic, laser or scalpel. Postoperative pain is minimal, healing is excellent and results are immediate.
