Preventive Protocols

Cleaning – fluoridation: Like adults, children should be checked regularly by the dentist. Through the process of cleaning and fluoridation, the dentist helps them maintain healthy teeth, monitors incipient decay, and teaches the child and parents the most appropriate way to care for the teeth.

Sealants: Sealants aim at preventing caries in permanent teeth that have deep grooves and, in general, morphology that is conducive to microbial retention. They are usually recommended for the first molars, which are the first permanent teeth to emerge at the age of 6 years. The procedure involves placing a special resin in the grooves of the teeth to prevent microbes from depositing in the area.
