Simple Tooth Extraction
A tooth that is in a terminal stage and is not amenable to treatment or prosthetic restoration should be extracted.
Methods of tooth preservation are constantly evolving, which is why extraction is always a last resort.
Τhe extraction of the 3rd molars (wisdom teeth), teeth which do not play a functional role and make oral hygiene difficult, is common. The extraction is performed under local anaesthesia and, depending on the difficulty (shape of the roots, degree of destruction, age, etc.), it usually takes up to 15-20 minutes. It is painless for the patient, and with the instructions and medication administered by the dentist, post-operative pain is minimal.
